To ensure the best possible match for you and your new furry friend, 2nd Chance Cat Rescue requires a questionnaire to be completed prior to any adoption and to express your interest in adopting through us.
All mandatory fields must be completed to activate the Submit button (an error message will display next to the missed field as a guide). Once you have clicked on the Submit button, a notification popup will show, indicating that your form has been submitted correctly, then the form will clear. If you have not heard from us or one of our foster carers within 24 hours, please message us via our Contact Form to ensure we received your completed questionnaire.
Meet and Greet
You are welcome to arrange an appointment to meet one or more of the cats and kittens available for adoption by contacting us using the Contact Us form. Please note: Most of our carers are located in the outer South East of Melbourne.
Adoption Days
During kitten season, we hold regular adoption days. To keep updated on dates and locations, please “Like” our Facebook page, 2nd Chance Cat Rescue Victoria and “Allow notifications”.
Fees and transfer of ownership
On Adoption day you will need to pay the fee stated on the cat’s profile.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not have EFTPOS or ATM facilities at Adoption Days. WE ONLY ACCEPT CASH.
The change of ownership form will be submitted two weeks after the cat or kitten is adopted once a good fit in the new home is confirmed.
Medical notes
All our cats and kittens are de-sexed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, worm and flea treated and have been vet-checked.
Adoption fees*
Kittens (under 12 months)
All kittens are:
- De-sexed;
- Microchipped;
- Vaccinated;
- Flea and worm treated;
- Vet checked;
- Free microchip change of ownership;
- Adoption Fee $300 with 1 vaccination, $350 with 2 vaccinations
Adults (12 months +) & Mother Cats
Our adult and mother cats are:
- De-sexed;
- Microchipped;
- Vaccinated;
- Flea and worm treated;
- Vet checked;
- Free microchip change of ownership;
- Adoption Fee $200
*Please note, there may be circumstances where these fees are varied for different reasons. Any fee variation will always be communicated to potential adopters in advance of any 'meet and greet'.
Price Increase Effective 1st August 2025
As of 1st August 2025, our adoption fees will be adjusted to help cover rising vet and care costs. The new fees are as follows:
- Kittens (1 vaccination): $400
- Kittens (2 vaccinations): $450
- Adult & Adolescent Cats (9+ months): $280
Breed cats will be listed with a separate adoption fee based on their individual profile.
Change of ownership is included in the adoption fee.
